CFR Admission

HOME

Welcome,

The Mozambique-Tanzania Centre for Foreign Relations (CFR) is one of the higher learning institutions in Tanzania. The Centre was established in 1978 following an agreement between the governments of the Republic of Mozambique and the United Republic of Tanzania. The Centre enjoys a diplomatic status incorporated in Immunities and Privileges Act N0. 5 (1986). This incorporation conferred the Centre with the status of a Diplomatic Institution, a status which the Centre continues to enjoy to date.

The Centre was originally designed to train Foreign Service Officers of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries

in the field of International Relations and Diplomacy. However, the expansion of foreign policy constituency and the demand for each country rising out of global changes enabled the Centre to admit students from other ministries, government institutions, the private sector as well as from other countries.

To meet the above changes, the Centre introduced new demanded programmes namely; Economic Diplomacy, Languages and Communication Skills and Strategic Studies.

International Relations is an important discipline offered in other higher learning institutions. However, the Centre combines the study of International Relations and Diplomacy into one meaningful training programme.

By this announcement, applications are now open to qualified candidates from Tanzania, the East and Southern African region and beyond, who wish to pursue undergraduate degree programmes for the academic year 2018/2019.

Applications for admission are invited from qualified candidates wishing to pursue various undergraduate degree programmes for the academic year 2018/2019. All requisite information and guidelines to take the applicant through the application stages are provided from the Instructions tab. Applicants are reminded to register their names as they appear in their O & A level certificates; likewise their index numbers where prompted.

All Direct applicants with Foreign Certificates should first present their certificates to the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for verification. They will in turn be given letters showing NECTA equivalent grades, copies of which should also be uploaded together with other certifcates. Further information on NECTA verification can be obtained from www.necta.go.tz.

Equivalent applicants are advised to obtain a special unique number from National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) which will be required when applying in the system. For further information about NACTE verification process please consult them at www.nacte.go.tz.
